Reagan To : Voice of Squid Game's Red Light Green Light Doll

At a young age, Reagan To has already made a remarkable impact in the entertainment world. From lending her voice to the Red Light Green Light Doll on Netflix’s Squid Game and some of the most popular K-dramas to shining on the dance floor in national and global Latin dance competitions, Reagan's talents are as diverse as they are impressive. Whether she’s bringing characters to life on screen or expressing emotions through dance, Reagan’s passion for performing has been a driving force in her life since she was just a baby.

Those who have had the pleasure of knowing Reagan, like Olivia and Pauline, the founders of Twrl Milk Tea, are inspired by her boundless energy and positivity. “I met Reagan a few years ago and love her energy and positivity. She and her mom Julianna have always shared a connection as Chinese Americans striving to be the best in what we do. Pauline and I are twrling in excitement about how far Reagan has come and are cheering her on as her #1 fans!” Olivia shared, reflecting the admiration and support Reagan has garnered along her journey.

Since she was a child, Reagan has always loved performing: her parents recall how she began singing and dancing even as a baby. At five years old, a serious medical condition that led to hospitalization sparked a defining moment in her life. Despite the fear and uncertainty she faced in the hospital, Reagan told her mother that once she got better, she wanted to become an entertainer to bring joy and laughter to everyone. This led her mother to enroll her in acting school, eventually guiding her to sign with an agent. “I feel so blessed to have had their guidance in helping shape my career as an actress,” Reagan shares.

While on set for Jane the Virgin, Gina Rodriguez introduced her to the world of dance, and Reagan was hooked from the first step. “I started dancing and instantly fell in love with it!” she says. Though acting and dancing are quite different, she enjoys how both allow her to express herself in unique ways. Acting lets her bring characters to life, while dancing offers a way to convey emotions through movement—two passions that complement each other beautifully in her life.

When she’s not performing or auditioning, Reagan indulges in a variety of other interests. Baking, especially cookies, is a favorite pastime. “I have such a sweet tooth that I could happily skip meals and just eat desserts all day!” she admits. Baking allows her to experiment creatively, though cookies remain her ultimate favorite. Reagan also enjoys playing the piano, which helps her relax and focus, particularly before dance practice. Additionally, she’s involved in modeling, having recently completed projects with Nike and Target. She views photoshoots as a source of empowerment, giving her the opportunity to express herself through different outfits and poses.

Reagan’s career took a surprising turn when she learned that her voice had been used for the iconic Red Light Green Light doll in Squid Game. “I was totally shocked!” she recalls. Although she wasn’t allowed to watch the show due to its mature content, she quickly became aware of the phenomenon her voice had become. “Hearing my voice everywhere—on TikTok, Instagram, literally all over the internet—was magical,” she says. The role, which she didn’t initially realize would be so significant, became a part of television history when the show went on to become the most-watched series ever. When asked about any memorable moments from recording Squid Game, she recalls that the director blindfolded her eyes, which helped her deliver an even scarier performance!

Beyond her entertainment career, Reagan is passionate about environmental sustainability, aligning perfectly with Twrl Milk Tea’s plant-based and eco-friendly mission. “We all need to do our part to protect the environment,” she emphasizes. Reagan does her part by using a reusable water bottle, recycling, and making small changes like turning off lights when they’re not needed. She was thrilled to learn, as a self-proclaimed milk tea lover, that milk tea could be plant-based. Plus, taking a can of her favorite black milk tea is extra convenient for her on-the-go lifestyle!

But Reagan’s creativity doesn’t stop at enjoying what’s already out there—she’s got ideas of her own. If she could design a milk tea flavor, it would be “Purple Dream,” a sweet and fruity grape milk tea with a fun, vibrant color. She imagines that if the Squid Game doll could make her own flavor, she would choose strawberry milk tea. “At first, strawberry seems cute and sweet, just like the doll’s innocent appearance. But the dark red color of the strawberry represents the doll’s true nature—bloody and dangerous, just like in the game,” she explains.

Reagan To is a whirlwind of talent, passion, and creativity, whether she’s performing, dancing, or dreaming up new flavors. With her boundless energy and genuine love for what she does, there’s no telling where her journey will take her next.
